An update

I have kept things quiet around these parts for a while. I started to feel a little self-conscious about the monthly reading lists. I do like sharing book recommendations and I love receiving them, but there is a risk that blogging my reading all becomes a bit performative. I am still reading a lot, as ever, but I am trying to work out a way to blog about it. I have wondered about a specific reading blog, perhaps with an email newsletter.

Two things to mention now…

Linkblog. I have set up a Linkblog page° where I am going to post very short updates with good links. I am not going to restrict my content here and so it’ll be an eclectic mix of whatever takes my fancy. They will appear on the main Blether’ page and they also have a page of their own (and RSS feed to follow). Linkblogs are quite old school but I like the idea and I can post them to Bluesky as well.

Comments. These days comments on blogs are a rarity - I am encouraged that we do see some on BJGP Life° and I do think there are blogs out there that can still foster them. I have set the website up with a facility to add comments through something called Hypothes.is.° You can get a free account and highlight or annotate text so it allows for inline comments on a more granular basis. (As per this example! Click on it to see.) You will find the button to show the annotations/comments at the top right of the webpage - it’s the little leftward pointing angle bracket/chevron symbol.
